**Update: Once again we are humbled and overwhelmed at the comments, emails and calls we have received since David left. Thank you all for your thoughts and most of all for your prayers, both for him and for us.
We heard from David last night (Friday). He only had about 30 seconds to call and say they had made it safely to Ft. Jackson, SC. He sounded tired and I wanted so badly to reach through the phone and give him a hug. It was much harder to let him go than either Steve or I could have ever imagined. According to the website, we probably won't hear from him again for about 21 days...oh me....He told me that as soon as he knows his address, he will send it to me. I'm going to post it to the blog because we've had so many people ask for it and say they would like to write him while he is away.
Thank you all for your love and prayers. We are blessed to call you our friends.

I remember when Scott left for Officer Training in Mississippi (in July). It was hard for the boys and I but Scott was so busy the time just flew by for him. He learned alot and had a good time too!
I have the same dress for our Lilymei! Only it's missing the flower in front. :-(

He looks so handsome!! (And I love Lily Mei's dress, sorry, just had to mention it. haha!!!) I wish I could jump over there and stay with you holding your hand through this. is there a harder thing to ask of a mother!!?!?! But I am also excited for him too. Going out inot the big wide world to make his way in such a brave, strong heroic way. I am SO proud of him and have so much respect for the parents who raised such a fine young hero!!

I am praying for him, but I am praying your his momma too. I know you and your dh must be so proud that he wants to go and serve our country, but I can only imagine how hard it must be to let him go.

Monica I continue to pray for David and for YOU! When Rob and I were sweethearts (well, not that we're not now, but I mean before we were engaged) he went through basic training for the Navy and I wrote to him almost everyday. He said getting letters was his lifeline. So I am happy to send David a little note of encouragement if you are okay with that! I'm so proud of him...and YOU!
