A few weeks ago, we completed the paperwork needed to apply for Lily Mei's readoption in the state of Alabama. This will allow us to get her official birth certificate listing us as her parents. We had our hearing today at the probate judge's office where he asked a few questions about why we wanted to adopt and what the process was while we were in China. Then Judge Davis said these words "OK, she's officially yours." Not that we didn't already know that, but now that one last piece of paperwork is done and Lily Mei Xiaolong Carter is ours forever and ever!

Paperwork all behind ya... it brought tears to my eyes and am sure that judges wished that this was all the cases they had... to make people truly happy... take care and congratulations to you all...

Monica, we just finished Sophie's readoption...we are just waiting on the birth certificates to arrive in the mail! Feels so good to be finished!!
