The Class of 2008

Our oldest son, David, graduated from high school tonight. Congratulations, David!! My auntie planned a celebration party afterwards and brought lots of yummy food! Tim and Tina came to help us celebrate. David has signed his paperwork and completed his physical and is now officially a US Army soldier. He leaves for basic training on July 23. We are so proud of him, but it's going to be very hard to let him go....We love you, David!

Note: Thank you all for the well wishes for David and for the prayers for his safety and my sanity! We are very proud of his decision to serve our country, but oh..as his mother, it's so very hard to think about him not being here. My head tells me it will be a great opportunity for him, but my heart breaks at the thought of him leaving....Thanks again for your support. It means the world to us. We are so fortunate to have met so many wonderful, Godly families along this journey and through this blog. We are blessed to "know" you all.

Also, I'm sure you all are wondering why we made the decision to take our blog private. We received a comment today from someone that we did not recognize. While it was nothing inappropriate, it did make us stop and think about who might be viewing our blog and able to obtain information about our family. It makes me sad because I have met so many wonderful people through this blog, but in today's world, unfortunately nothing should be taken for granted and we decided to only allow family and friends access. Thank you all for understanding and accepting our invitation! Have a wonderful Memorial Day!!

Congratulations David! And thank you David for serving our country and God in such a wonderful way. Monica I will be praying for you...I know it will be hard. You have obviously raised him in the admonition of the Lord and He will hold David in His everlasting arms!
I have loved catching up on your previous posts and the Disney store pics are SO fun! Little Lily Mei just looks so natural in a pair of Minnie ears!

Ah, you and I have become sister moms in the military life of having sons who are soldiers!

My son was in OK for Basic. Do you know where your David will be? You are in my prayers, as is David!

David, get in shape as much as you can now! NOT one minute of it will be wasted later. That was my son's best defense against the expected shock of Basic. Being fit will make ALL the difference! It was physically a breeze for him because he was ready. I know if he wrote you, it would be his advice too!

Psalm 91 was given to me from Daleea, and now I pray that for you.

Thank you for inviting me!

Monica--I'm an AirForce brat and an Army Reserve wife, but it is not preparation for sending off a child to join. May God's blessings be on you and David....
