Prayers For A Friend

Let me tell you about my friend, Judy. Judy and I have been friends since our oldest boys were in Kindergarten. Judy is the kind of friend who you know is always there even when life gets in the way and you don't see each other or even talk for months. Judy is that friend who you can call day or night and she would drop whatever she was doing and rush to your side. Judy is the friend that drags you to antique shops and scrapbook stores when all you really want to do is just stay curled up in bed all day. Judy is that friend who can look at your face and know you just need a hug.

I know this because Judy has seen me through some of the darkest days of my life. She has held my hand, listen to me sob, taken care of my boys when I couldn't, and encouraged me in her ever-gentle way to get back to the business of living. She always told me that everything was going to be OK. Judy has the sweetest spirit of anyone I have ever known and I don't think I've ever seen her angry. She is soft-spoken and kind and when you are with Judy she makes you feel like you are the only person in the room.

Yesterday, my friend, Judy was diagnosed with breast cancer. It's small and they caught it early, thank goodness. She is scheduled for a lumpectomy on the 16th and radiation after that. Please keep my dear friend in your prayers. I thank you from the bottom of my heart.
