Our local Families with Children from China group had our annual Chinese New Year celebration tonight. This year it was held at a Chinese restaurant and we had a huge crowd. It was so nice seeing everyone again and catching up on things that have been happening with our families since our last get-together.
I couldn't help but remember that last year was our first Chinese New Year with our Athens group and all we had was a little worn picture of our sweet Lily Mei. This year she was here with us and how special it was to share this part of her heritage with her. We are so blessed to have this amazing group and we have made so many friends through this process. We pray daily for our waiting families and we hope that next Chinese New Year will bring even more new faces to our celebration!
"blog buddy" Buffi last night! She and her sweet family have joined our FCC
group and we finally got to meet face to face! What a wonderful person she
is and her Sadie is just too cute! We struggled with what to choose off the huge buffet so as not to blow our Two Pound Tuesday goals, but I'm not so sure how well we did...but, oh well..we had a great time anyway!
Buffi, It was GREAT to meet you, too!

Another fun thing we did today was to go to an Upward Basketball game at Mr. Jerry and Mrs. Connie's church. Mr. Jerry was doing a devotional on Chinese New Year and he invited several of us to come and be a part of the program. Thank you, Mr. Jerry, for including us. We had a great time!

Monica,
Thank you SO much for leaving the comment on my blog to inform me that someone is trying to get the file of the little boy from Kunming. Someone on my Kunming group is also trying to get his file, I guess...maybe the same person. I am so happy and relieved to hear he has a chance at a family. I'll be praying for a happy ending to this story.
You have a beautiful little girl! What a sweet little princess:)
Blessings,
Cindy
Thank you for coming to our Upward Basketball game and Chinese New Year devotional. I never miss a chance to ask people to pray for the children in China. And for our guests at Upward to be able to see the fruits of the prayers we ask for was awesome! Lily Mei is the cutest thing ever! Thank you again.
Love,
Jerry

Monica!! It was awesome to meet you!! What neat friendships we have all built through this process!! I am so grateful!! We had a wonderful time at the FCC CNY celebration! My heart was warm to see all these litle ones just bond immediately!! That was so precious!! I have to say...I LOVE Lily Mei's cheeks. She is even MORE adorable in person!!! Hope you guys have a good week!! OH...and yes...I am NOT looking forward to 2 pound Tuesday tomorrow. I think I ate 2 pounds worth of food on that buffet. I'm trying to get myself straight starting today!! MAN!! Eating out makes it so hard!!! See ya!

Oh my goodness, she is so beautiful! Her pink dress looks a lot like Anna Grace's CNY dress.
Hugs!
Oh, So Sweet! My little Luci had the very same lavender dress for her first CNY at home. :)
So glad that you have such a great group of adoption friends! Lily Mei looks absolutely beautiful in her Chinese dress!
Lily Mei looks so pretty in both of her dresses...pink and purple!! Glad you had fun at your FCC's celebration. Ours was also held this past Saturday.
