We saw this sad little face and our lives were forever changed.
And look at her now!
What a difference three short months can make. I still look at her and cry. I just can't believe that she is really here and really ours. This sweet girl has brought so much joy into our lives that we never even realized we were missing. She makes us laugh with her funny faces and "old lady" walk. She has a smile that lights up the room. Everyday she does something new or says a new word and my heart sings! How did we ever do without our precious Lily Mei?
For those of you who are still waiting, I know it is so very hard. Believe me...I know. I waited seven long years... But she is so worth it. During our wait, I was so impatient. I couldn't understand what was taking so long. Why we couldn't get started sooner... Why our paperwork didn't get done while others after us were moving ahead... I didn't know what the hold-up was with Immigration or why our social worker had to go out of town that weekend instead of finishing our homestudy...But now I know this: Every little setback, every delay, every day we had to wait led us straight to our Lily Mei! Now I know why I had to wait so long...I was waiting on her.
Mommy loves you Lily Mei Xiaolong. You are truly my Angel.

Monica,
You are so right, every little 'setback' had a reason, just to lead you to Lily Mei. We're up to a whopping 4 months with Acer and it's just been incredible. I'm so glad we're sharing the journey together.

Hey Monica, I just found your blog through "Word to your Mutha" blog.
I am still waiting for our baby...but the reason I am emailing is that I was raised in Athens, AL. My parents are still there and I visit often. I was just wondering where in AL you are?? Our blog is www.mokbeth.blogspot.com
And, what a great daughter you have!!!

Oh how I needed to hear that as we are waiting on day 86 for our LOA today (we hope to hear something Monday on day 87). Everything in our process has taken forever in my eyes...so many delays during paperchase, but it worked out PERFECTLY for the referral. So, I hope these delays work out perfectly for going to get our Katie.
