Here's An Update....

Whew! What a week it has been! Ups and downs, highs and lows, more frustration. First, when I get home from work on Tuesday, I start reading my "boards" and everyone is in an uproar. Seems there were rumors that the CCAA (Chinese Center for Adoption Affairs) might be making some changes to the adoption requirements. One rumor is that both parents may have to have their college degree. Ugh...Steve is five classes short of having his finished. Well, great, something else for me to worry about. Steve has threatened to unsubscribe me from all message boards if I don't stop letting these things bother me! Also, still no word on our homestudy. We received an email from Mrs. Pat on Saturday saying that it had been mailed, but no confirmation from Olga yet.....Another week lost! And, Steve had knee surgery on Wednesday (very unexpected), so looks like we won't get any work done upstairs over the long weekend! :-(

Now for the good part: Steve talked to Mrs. Pat Lee at Children of the World on Thursday. She checked with her China contact and so far there have been no changes to the adoption requirements by the CCAA. She thinks that if they change anything it might be age limits and single parents. Nothing that might affect us (I hope!). She also checked with Olga and our homestudy has been signed and is on it's way to DHR!! Finally!! Then on Friday, we went to a little baby store in Huntsville and found the furniture I want for Lily's room! It is so beautiful! I haven't bought it yet, but at least I know where it is when I get ready!

So....maybe, just maybe...we're finally getting somewhere!

Monica,

STOP READING THOSE RUMORS! hahaha
Russ reads them too and it drives me Crazy! I tell him...DO NOT TELL ME ANYTHING form those stupid things unless it's GOOD NEWS! It makes your wait seem much longer when all you hear is the negative. I just let it go on day by day. When it is time for me to go get my little Alison, it will be the "RIGHT" time!

Getting the funriture is so exciting. Russ and I had a field day putting Alison's bed together. It was like Christmas the day I got her bedding in the mail. We still have a few more things to do to her room, But we have about 9 more months to get it done. ha ha

Keep your chin up! Sounds like things are going pretty good. Before to long you will be here when I am....waiting!!!!! haha

We hope to see you on the 16th!

It so hard to stop reading all those rumors. I think I was on every group. At one time, I did actually remove my name, but couple of days after, I was back to reading. Plus....Im still reading all the updates and information and I even have my baby Lily now. Just getting prepared for number 2..(haha).

Its so much fun to decorate their room. You have to come over and see Ms. Lily's room. Of course, Mommy thinks its too cute with the pink walls and lavender ceiling.
Now, I just trying to decide which outfits she should wear (Ok....some days we change clothes several times).
Look foward to seeing you on the 16th!!!!
